Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) comprise a significant portion of Brock Solutions’ core business, and have proven to help our customers effectively execute operations to meet their business goals. Our MES solutions communicate directly with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and with plant- floor control systems to initiate, react to, and report on plant activities – all in real time. As a result, our customers enjoy significant process improvements that lead to greater production and reduced costs.

Gone are the days of expensive ‘custom’ MES solutions – our customers require that their MES be installed quickly, be easily upgradable without additional integration and implementation costs, and be capable of rolling out across multiple plants. Accordingly, our MES solutions are layered on industry proven off-the-shelf tools, and have been successfully implemented in industries such as Steel, Automotive, Food & Beverage, Foundry, Power Generation, Chemical, and Consumer Products.

To truly achieve value from a fully integrated system, real-time operational data must be made available and effectively utilized by higher-level ERP systems (e.g. SAP) where financial decisions are driven. Brock Solutions provides expertise that is unique among Systems Integrators, with a team that is skilled in all levels of integration, from shop-floor controls to ERP interfacing. By understanding the business drivers of integration, and having the depth to deliver, we help our customers achieve real business results, with one source of responsibility.

Our MES solutions typically revolve around the following modules:
  • Performance Analysis – real-time and historical reporting of production performance (utilizing SPC/SQC), and comparison to past and/or anticipated results
  • Data Collection and Acquisition – capturing production and process data, and providing this information (real time and historical) to Operations
  • Resource Allocation and Control – managing, scheduling, and tracking production resources (materials, equipment, labor, and documentation)
  • Dispatching Production – managing, dispatching, and altering production
  • Quality Management – identifying operational problems using alarming and Statistical Process Control/Statistical Quality Control (SPC/SQC), and providing recommendations for suitable remedial action
  • Process Management – monitoring, controlling, and tracking production processes
  • Production Planning and Tracking – monitoring, controlling, and tracking production resources
  • Operations and Detailed Scheduling – realistic, detailed sequencing based on finite operational capabilities
  • Document Control – maintaining production and operation records and forms
  • Labor Management – tracking and reporting of labor resources (personnel, skills, training, activities, and work)
  • Maintenance Management – maintaining equipment maintenance records. Scheduling preventative maintenance
