Shaftless Repowers

Many 20-40 year old newspaper presses remain mechanically sound but require motor control updates. The challenges faced are justifying the return on investment and performing the upgrade without compromising existing production schedules.

Brock's shaftless press repowers go beyond a one-for-one replacement by providing a justified return on investment. Specific enhancements include:

• Reduced set-up time and faster press turnarounds with the ability to independently plate-up any unit not running
• Elimination of horizontal line shaft allows more flexibility in scheduling activities
• Automatic plate-up positioning for press operators applying plates
• Consistent start-ups and reduced waste as the number of cut-off compensator settings are dramatically reduced
• Shorter web paths can be achieved by eliminating all unit-to-unit compensators and performing the circumferential registration adjustment electronically
• More precise adjustments for electronic circumferential registration adjustments
